How This Site Casts Charts

True solar time, not clock time

Classical BaZi defines the pillars by the sun’s actual position. Clock time cannot do that: a whole time zone shares one clock while the sun moves fifteen degrees of longitude per hour. Our calculator therefore converts your birth time in two steps — a longitude correction (four minutes per degree between your birth city and the zone’s reference meridian) and the equation of time (the few minutes the true sun runs ahead of or behind the average sun across the year). The corrected moment, not the certificate time, decides your hour pillar — and near the two-hour boundaries it regularly changes the chart.

The rules we follow

Pillars change at the solar terms (the month pillar at each jie, the year pillar at lichun), not at calendar month or New Year boundaries. Hidden stems, Ten Gods and luck-cycle direction follow the standard classical conventions used across the major schools; where schools disagree, we follow the most widely taught reading and say so rather than invent a private variant.

What we think charts are for

Fate Script treats BaZi as a structured mirror for self-reflection, not a verdict. A chart names tendencies, trade-offs and timing; it does not relieve anyone of choices. Nothing on this site is medical, legal or financial advice.

Your data

Birth details you enter stay in your browser’s local storage so the daily reading can reuse them. We do not require accounts and do not sell data.
